City Council Regular Meeting Minutes

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on September 14, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Huffman, Tull, Hodges and Beck. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman. Visitors at the meeting were Dayton Tull, Winston Adams, Nathan Gard, Ty Phillips, Easton Rice, Rhianna Villanueva, Deputy Peterson and Colleen Larimer.
Peterson made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Beck, all ayes, motion carried.
Tull made a motion to approve 8/24/26 regular meeting minutes, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Hodges made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made motion to approve August 2026 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Beck, all ayes, motion carried.
There was a discussion held on the Scooter Ordinance. Tull made a motion to approve a minimum fine of $25 and up to $100 for 1st offenses, with a minimum of $50 and up to $200 for subsequent or 2nd offenses, seconded by Beck, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson mentioned that he, along with SRO Officer, Jenkins will be holding a 30-minute safety class on 9/28/26 and on 9/30/26, as well as another class in the spring. Peterson stated the class will cover basic street safety, not just scooters.
Tull made a motion to approve Pay Application #1 for Lenox Pool Improvement Project in the amount of $13,669.55, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.
Peterson made a motion to approve Special Even Permit Application for Homecoming Parade, seconded by Beck, all ayes, motion carried.
Beck made a motion to approve Resolution 26-31 Street Finance Report FY25, seconded by Huffman, all ayes, motion carried.
Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Hodges seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM.
