City Council Regular Meeting Minutes

August 11, 2025 - 5:30 p.m. - City Hall

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on August 11, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Huffman, Peterson, Hodges, Tull and Cruz. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman. Visitors were Colleen Larimer and Cindy Cox.

Tull made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve 7/28/25 regular meeting minutes, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approval July 2025 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Cindy Cox entered the meeting.

Kitzman reviewed the Contracts and Bonds for 2025 Road Project with the council.

Hodges made a motion to approve Resolution 25- 35 Approving Contract and Bonds for 2025 Road Project, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried.

Cindy Cox presented the council with information on the Pool Renovation Project. The Leading Ladies of Lenox have raised approximately $357,000 and their role in the project is winding down and the City will take over. A rock - climbing wall and basketball hoops have been added to the project for the big pool. Kitzman mention the Land and Water Conservation grant that was received in the amount of $175,000; however, these funds are not available for 13- 18 months. Kitzman will be applying for the CAT grant in the amount of $162,000 and if we are awarded, we will withdraw from the Land and Water Conservation grant. The estimated cost of the project has increased; however, there is the possibility that the filtration system will not have to be changed.

Huffman entered the meeting.

Tull made a motion to open the Public Hearing at 5:45PM on Disposal of Interest in Real Property for an Ingress/Egress and Utility Easement, seconded by Peterson. There were no comments heard from the public. Hodges made a motion to close the Public Hearing, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve Resolution 25- 36 Disposing of Real Property for an Ingress/Egress and Utility Easement, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Peterson seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:55 PM.
