CITY OF LENOX

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on September 23, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Tull, Hodges and Cruz; Peterson and Nelson were absent. Staff present was City Administrator, Allison Kitzman and City Clerk, Dawne Bowman. Visitors were Colleen Larimer and Braxston Bradley.

Tull made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Hodges made a motion to approve 9/09/24 meeting minutes, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve Resolution 24.38 Setting Public Hearing for 10/14/24 at 5:30PM Regarding Sale of City Owned Property Located at 205 South Walnut, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Sealed bids will be due by 4PM on 10/14/24 with a minimum bid of $4,500.00.

Hodges made a motion to approve Resolution 24- 39 Street Finance Report FY24, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman discussed Premise Transfer for DMT Golf, LLC Class C Alcohol License with Outdoor Service to 303 West Dallas. The clubhouse will be closing October 1 and DMT Golf, LLC would like to move their liquor license to the Twisted Stalk, as their license is valid until March 2025. Hodges made a motion to approve the transfer, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Cruz made a motion to approve Temporary Credit Card Limit Increase for Neighborhood Center from $1,200 to $3,000 until December 20, 2024, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

A discussion was held on the Metal Drop Off Area. Kitzman stated that it is being used for general garbage and other items that are not permitted. There is signage at the site explaining what it's intended for. This is a free service to the community; however, it is being abused and takes a lot of time from Public Works to get rid of the items that are not allowed there. The council discussed options of putting up a different type of camera or closing it down and not offering the service. Kitzman stated that Illegal Dumping would require the Sheriff's Dept to write tickets. Mayor suggested signage in English and Spanish, while Hodges suggested to close it down and residents would be required to figure out their own way to get rid of appliances and tv's. The council is not confident that we could get tickets to be written and it was decided to table this for the next meeting.

Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Cruz seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 PM.
