CITY OF LENOX

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on August 12, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Nelson, Tull and Cruz; Hodges was absent. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman and visitor, Colleen Larimer.

Tull made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve 7/22/24 meeting minutes, seconded by Nelson, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Nelson, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve July 2024 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve Resolution 24- 32 Setting Public Hearing for September 9, 2024 at 5:45PM Granting an Electrical Line Easement, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve 1st Reading Ordinance 396 Amending Chapter 63 Speed Regulations, seconded by Tull. Roll call votes- all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve re- appointment of Rob Lundquist and Linda Hogan to the Lenox Neighborhood Center Board for term of 2 years, expiring 8/2026, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried.

A discussion was held on the city owned property at 205 South Walnut. Kitzman explained that the home on the property has been demolished and it was time to move forward on how to sell it and what building regulations, if any, the council wanted on the property. The City has approximately $7,000 in expenses and would have to be taken out to bid. Tull mentioned that requiring someone to build on the property would not be fair, due to the condition of the property next to it. Kitzman added that a shed or garage alone could not be built on the property unless it adjoins to the property. The Mayor explained that the council needs to decide how much of the expenses we are wanting to recoup. Kitzman stated that with the demo of the property, the City may take a loss. Nelson stated to put the minimum bid at $7,000 with no building requirement. The council agreed with this. Kitzman stated the sealed bids would be due by September 9, 2024 at 4:00PM and would be opened at the September 9, 2024 council meeting. Nelson made a motion to approve Resolution 24- 33 setting Public Hearing on September 9, 2024 at 5:30PM Regarding Sale of City Owned Property, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve Outstanding Obligation Report for FY24, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Cruz seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:50 PM.
