CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
November 27, 2023 - 5:30 p.m. - City Hall
A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on November 27, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Bowman, Tull, Zabel and Cruz; Nelson was absent. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman; Colleen Larimer was a visitor.
Bowman made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Zabel made a motion to approve 11/13/23 minutes, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve the payment of bills, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.
Kitzman discussed replacement door at the depot. The current door has had the lock broken and the door needs replaced. There is a Vern Reynolds Trust to be used for depot restoration in the amount of $6,953.54 that can be used for the door. Lighthouse Glass quoted an ADA compliant commercial door that would match the depot in the amount of $7,452.00. Zabel stated that she would like to see another quote. Kitzman will get other quotes and this will be on the next agenda.
Kitzman discussed an exterior paint program, as there is a Vern Reynolds Trust in the amount of $6,953.54 to be used for exterior painting of residential homes. Kitzman asked the council how they wanted this project to be handled, such as who is eligible, should there be an application process, should a contractor be hired so we know the home gets painted, etc. Zabel mentioned the City of Creston has a similar program and SICOG matches funds for this type of program. Kitzman will contact the City of Creston for details on their program and contact SICOG about matching funds and this will be on the next agenda.
Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Zabel seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM.
