CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
October 9, 2023 · 5:30 p.m. · City Hall
A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on October 9, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Bowman, Tull, Zabel and Cruz; Nelson was absent. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman, visitor was Colleen Larimer.
Tull made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Zabel made a motion to approve 9/25/23 minutes, with correction of Bowman seconding the motion to approve the 9/11/23 minutes, rather than Zabel, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve the payment of bills, seconded by Zabel, all ayes, motion carried. Zabel made a motion to approve September 2023 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.
Kitzman discussed increasing the credit card limit for the Lenox Neighborhood Center from October through January 1st due to the cost of items purchased for the holidays. Tull made a motion to temporarily increase the Lenox Neighborhood Center credit card limit from $1,200 to $4,000, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried. This increase is from October through January 1st.
Kitzman presented the council with the Contract and Bonds for 2023 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project. Zabel made a motion to approve Resolution 23-42 Approving Contract and Bonds for 2023 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.
Bowman made a motion to approve Jim Rice to the Low Rent Housing Board for term of 2 years, ending September 2025, seconded by Zabel, all ayes, motion carried.
Tull made a motion to approve Pay Application #4 and Final in the amount of $11,596.00 for the Walking Trail Project Phase 1 and 2, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried. Kitzman mentioned the project is complete with seeding completed as well.
Bowman made a motion to approve Resolution 23-43 Setting Public Hearing for October 23, 2023 at 5:30 PM for Sale of City Owned Property located at 710 West Michigan, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.
Tull made a motion to approve Special Event Permit for Halloween Trunk or Treat, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.
Zabel made a motion to approve Beggars Night for Tuesday October 31, 2023 from 5-8 PM, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried.
Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Cruz seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM.
