THE LOCAL LIBRARY AND IT'S SERVICES ARE THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN TOWN!

How many of you know that the building is an old bank donated to us by Ralph Zabel and Elmer Bose? How many of you know the building has been fixed up with grants and many of our printers and computers we have have gotten that way also?

How many of you know we are wireless and have 5 computers for the public? You may bring in your own laptop and use our facilities. There is a small fee for printing something to help off set the ink.

How many of you know we have our cataloging and circulation computerized? How many of you know that if we don't have a book you want we can get it in for you?

Do you know we are handicapped accessible? The ramp at the back door and the restroom are also handicapped.

We can get any book you want if we don't have it. We have over 20,000 books counting the children's books. We have books in Spanish and are signs are also in Spanish.

We have AR books for all ages, they are all labeled so they can be checked out easily. We also have DVD's and videos as well. Three newspapers: Lenox Time Table, Des Moines Register and the Corning Free Press. We can get income tax forms for you as well as FAFSA (Federal Aid for Student) materials. Census material is available. Spanish books are also available. A copy machine is available.. Book delivery is available just for the asking. Open access to borrow books from another library with a Lenox Library Card.

New books are listed in the Lenox Time Table every month.

Book sales as we delete old books.

Books that we carry all the time are: fiction, non-fiction, mystery, large print, religion, self-help books, recipe books, medical books, autobiographies, biographies, history of all the wars and books on all the presidents and their wives. Romance, youth and easy fiction and non-fiction, AR books for all ages labeled so they are easily found, Iowa books, sports, books, paperbacks in every genre, fantasy, realistic fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, informational books and many poetry books.

A newly remodeled basement to use as a meeting room and for summer programs.

How many of you know we have a summer reading program every year?

We have old history books for Lenox, old atlas material, dictionaries, old material of Lenox in the vertical files.

We were fortunate to be the recipients of the Michael Foods Breakfast monies this past year and it helped in our remodeling.

We have information for the Hawki insurance for children. The program covers doctor visits, immunizations, hospital care, eye exams and much more. Stop in for your information.

We have all kinds of informational pamphlets and free magazines in the front entry at all times.

We have a voluntary group of women that work for us on Saturdays and help with our annual bake sale fundraiser in April. If anyone is interested feel free to come in and we will talk about it with you.

How many of you know that the librarians have seven important dates to remember? They are to fill our seven reports for the State Library. The State Library actually has control over us. Our mentor is in Council Bluffs, Iowa but we can get help whenever we need it from the State Library of Iowa. The librarians have to take 45 hours of CED every three years. Our Enrich Iowa money depends on answering 65 questions in the affirmative. We are entitled to miss a few.
